Dear Members and Supporters of the Y,
As we welcome the New Year, we look ahead with great expectations to what 2025 will bring. Our community's strength and resilience will undoubtedly propel us towards new adventures and higher heights in 2025. This year, we are poised, with supporters like you, to achieve even greater impacts for our community, thanks to the collective spirit and determination that define us.
Together, we will build on our momentum and continue to uplift, support, and inspire each other, creating a brighter and more inclusive future for all. Our shared vision and commitment to excellence will guide us forward as we embark on this exciting new journey.
Changing Lives through Outdoor Experiences
Our Camping and Outdoor Leadership programs are set to serve more than 5,200 overnight summer experiences and 30,000 total engagements in 2025. We are investing in community outreach and partnership efforts, breaking ground on new projects at Camp Colman, and launching new programs at the Kilworth Environmental Center. The new Robinson Education Center at Camp Orkila will focus on wetland environmental education, offering a dynamic space for students and campers to connect with nature, and will serve more than 12,000 youth and families annually.
Empowering the Next Generation
In Youth Development, we are committed to providing high-quality programs to youth across King County and ensuring we have dedicated staff at every Before and After School Enrichment site and Early Education Center. The new Early Education Center in Eastgate will increase access to quality and affordable early education for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. We also look forward to expanding our teen meals program and increasing meaningful food access through various food pantry models. We will continue to expand Y Adventurers (formerly Y Guides) to foster meaningful caregiver-child and community connections.
Improving the Lives of Young People
The YMCA Social Impact Center programs will expand its support of young people through housing and homeless services, behavioral health services, and foster care services. In 2025, we’ll serve more than 6,000 youth and young adults through existing programming and expanding our impact. We’ll open a new housing program for domestic violence survivors, transform our mental health programming to better respond to crises, expand our impact to more counties across the state, and grow the number of foster families and youth we serve.
Creating a Healthier, More Connected Community
Our Y membership locations will continue to thrive with expanded youth sports offerings and grant-funded water safety classes that are free to community members in need. We are also committed to being a place of belonging for our seniors, as well as bringing back popular programs like Tween and Teen Takeovers at some locations.
Commitment to Our Customers
Looking ahead to 2025, we have so much to be excited about. Our commitment to providing 360-degree customer care to everyone who engages with the Y remains steadfast. We are enhancing our YMCA360 mobile app to support our members in spirit, mind, and body every day, and we are improving our online experience with a refreshed website design and new Customer Relationship Management system.
Fulfilling our Mission through Philanthropy
Philanthropy is at the heart of our mission. Donations help us align our community needs with resources. Your generosity allows us to think bigger about how we met needs in community together. In 2025, we’re improving our technology to help our donors fully understand the impact of every philanthropic dollar they generously invest in our mission. We’re also looking forward to celebrating our 150th anniversary at our signature event, Community Changemakers.
As we embark on this new year, let us continue to work together to expand our impact in the community. Thank you for being a part of the Y family. Here's to a prosperous and connected 2025.
With hope and optimism,
Loria Yeadon
