Hold or Cancel Your YMCA of Greater Seattle Membership  
The YMCA of Greater Seattle does not impose annual contracts on our members. Memberships in good standing are automatically renewed on the first of the month. Members can cancel their membership or place a membership hold at any time. Written notice is required via web form 14 days prior to the 1st of the month. Memberships do not automatically cancel due to inactivity.

What to Expect for Fees Related to Current or Future Enrolled Programs   
Members must have an active membership for the full duration of any program or activity to receive member pricing and priority registration. Fees will be converted to the non-member pricing and billed accordingly if no membership is active for the participant(s) including when a membership is cancelled or placed on hold.

  1. End Your Membership Hold: if you wish to return early from hold. 
  2. Begin or Extend Membership Hold: to freeze your membership for $5 per month
  3. Cancel Your Membership: to end your autorenewal.

 

Membership Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your membership, written notice is required via web form 14 days prior to the 1st of the month to end your auto renewal. Once a 14-day cancellation is received, the membership is active and valid through their last prepaid day, the last day of the month. Cancellation requests with less than 14 days’ notice will be drafted one additional time before cancellation is effective. Read the complete policy >

Begin, End, or Extend a Hold

Members may request to hold their membership for up to 3 months at any time for non-medical or medical reasons. Such freezes are limited to two instances per calendar year. Holds are $5 per month and are drafted on the 1st of each month. The hold period will commence on the 1st of the month following when the request is submitted. Members must give 14-day notice prior to the 1st of the month. During a membership hold, members will not have access to member-specific discounts.
