Teens can earn community service hours at our Mountain Biking Camp!
Want to learn more about mountain biking while at the same time learn how to protect and preserve the amazing trails that surround us? Teens in grades 8 through 12 won’t want to miss out on our upcoming Mountain Biking Camp that starts Monday, July 17. This camp is a fun and fulfilling way for students to earn community service hours through the service projects will take place each of the two weeks.
Week One: Students will learn new bike skills while exploring local parks. By working with volunteers from the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, we’ll give some love back to the trails we use.
Week Two: Students will travel regionally on trails from the peaks of the Cascades all the way down to the shores of the Puget Sound. Along the way we will incorporate community service and learn about local ecology. We will work alongside the volunteers from Mountain to Sound Greenway Trust and also with skilled instructors and YMCA staff who dedicate their lives to advocating for our public spaces.
Space is limited so sign up today! You won’t want to miss out on this trail riding fun – Register Here for the Sammamish Y Mountain Biking Camp!
Don’t have a mountain bike? That’s ok – bikes have been generously donated by the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance for use during the two weeks.
Special thanks to the Evergreen Mountain Biking Alliance for donating use of the bikes and also to Huckwagons for generously donating the trailer used to move the bikes from one location to another.
