The YMCA of Greater Seattle knows that in order for communities to succeed, everyone must have the opportunity to reach their full potential, and with summer just around the corner, Macy’s is helping us ensure that every child—regardless of age, income or background—has the opportunity to attend summer camp at the Y!
From May 19 - 21, you can give $3 at Macy’s in-store or online to support the Y’s camp scholarship program and receive a 25% off coupon in return. 100% of the in-store donations will benefit the YMCA of Greater Seattle.
When you donate to the YMCA's day and overnight camp programs, you're giving kids access and opportunities to discover who they are, practice living with different kinds of people, try new things, and get creative. We believe every child needs and deserves access to nature and outdoor recreation to help them maintain a healthy body, a healthy mind, and healthful habits.
Youth and teens strengthen leadership skills, build character, and grow their respect for nature through Y summer camp programs. Young people connect with each other and caring adult mentors, becoming thriving and contributing leaders in their communities and advocates for environmental responsibility.
Here's what camp has meant for one of our Camp Orkila parents:
"My daughter had a rough school year, dealing with bullying and low self-esteem. Her experience at Camp Orkila boosted her confidence and taught her that she could do a lot of things that she thought she could never do. The friendly, counselors made her feel welcome in the group. She met so many new friends, and she found a community. The joy, enthusiasm, and satisfaction when she returned home after camp was infectious and wonderful to behold. She had made herself proud, and I could sense her obvious feeling of inner accomplishment."
When you donate to YMCA camps, you’re investing in your community’s kids and families. Your support provides opportunities for youth to build character, develop leadership skills, create lifelong friendships, and become dedicated champions of our environment. Thank you for your support.
