You may have seen the summer bucket list that went viral on Twitter recently. It reminded us of the magic and possibility of the “endless summer” mindset. And it inspired us to make one of our own!
Go on a picnic
Enjoy the ability to eat outside while you can! Stop in at the deli section of your local grocery store on the way to the park for a quick and simple meal with friends. If you want to picnic with fellow Y members, volunteers and donors, join us for Auburn's Annual Appreciation Picnic.
Attend a luau
If you've been daydreaming of a tropical vacation, do the next best thing and adopt island life for a night! Attend or throw your own luau-themed night. You're invited to our Tropical Luau Night!
Have a water fight
Beat the summer heat with an epic water balloon fight. For an awesome night of water balloons, water themed games and a cannon ball contest in the pool, come to our Water Fight Night.
Dance like no one's watching
Dancing is the perfect way to stay active because it doesn't feel like traditional exercise. Check out our Belly Dance Workshops, Kids Hip Hop class (Meredith Mathews. Saturdays through September 23 at 10:15 – 11am.) and Adult Cardio Hip Hop class (Downtown. Tuesdays & Thursdays 12-1pm).
Have a movie night
We live for summer blockbusters. It's a great chance to escape from the real world in an air-conditioned theater or a comfy patch of grass at an outdoor movie. We're hosting free outdoor movies all summer. We'll also be watching Boss Baby August 11 at University.
Spend the day at Pike Place Market
Spend a day playing tourist in your own city. Head down to Pike Place Market to indulge in your favorite foods, discover new ones and browse dozens of unique shops.
Go the the beach
Grab a group of your friends, good food and a killer playlist and head to the beach. Enjoy a memorable night at the beach filled with games, prizes, s'mores at our 8th Annual Beach Bonfire at Golden Gardens Beach in Ballard.
Go on a hike
Take advantage of hiking season and explore our beautiful backyard. If you're new to hiking or prefer hiking with others, join us for Rattlesnake Ledge Sunday, August 13 or our second annual Y to Y Hike.
Learn how to paddle board
With access to so many bodies of water, paddle boarding is a great low key water sport to try in Seattle. If you want help getting started, attend a paddle boarding class with our Downtown crew.
