Washington State YMCA Youth and Government is delighted to announce the hire of a new full-time Program Supervisor, Tibaria Alnouri.
Tibaria’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Guilford College in North Carolina. While pursuing her degree, she was a Bonner Scholar completing hundreds of hours of community service work as well as showing a deep commitment to community engagement. She was also an honors student and received the achievement of being on the Dean’s List four times. She has received various awards: Dean’s List Writing Award, Dick Dyer Heart and Hands Award, and Community Senate Core Values Scholarship.
Outside of her educational background, Tibaria has worn many hats in the workplace. Just to name a few – she has worked with the North Carolina Democratic Party, with Amnesty International, as a Legal Assistant as well as served as a farm crew member with Anathoth Community Garden. She has five years of experience managing human rights programs as well as seven years of working in nonprofit settings. During her career, she has worked at a wide range of nonprofits in the Greensboro community from serving immigrant and refugee communities to human rights advocacy. She has also been responsible for facilitating cultural competency workshops, planning and coordinating events, and increasing membership to organizations.
Tibaria has a deep appreciation for Y Youth & Government. As a student, she participated in Youth Legislature with the Bellevue delegation. She also attended the Y Conference on National Affairs (CONA). Tibaria is scheduled to start mid-September with Washington YMCA Youth and Government. Please join us in welcoming her!
