Healthy Kids Day® is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families. For over 30 years, YMCAs and their communities have hosted free community events in April to inspire kids and families to keep their minds and bodies active throughout the summer months and beyond.
Activities vary by location. Here's a sampling of what to expect at your local YMCA:
All kids love snacks! Need a little inspiration on some ways to turn your snack into a healthy and yummy treat? We've got some great kid-friendly ideas to share!
Before summer starts, it’s important to brush up on your family’s water safety. Learn how to properly fit a lifejacket, how to throw and not go, and the importance of utilizing a water watcher.
Ready to show off your dribbling and shooting skills? Or try your hand at something new? Get your body moving in a fun sports challenge!
Ready to run, jump, and bounce? So are we! From bounce houses to obstacle courses and more, get ready to move your body and get the wiggles out.
Our camp team will lead you in a super fun camp craft, and be ready to answer any questions about YMCA summer camp.

As the largest provider of swim lessons in the country, we strive to help all ages learn how to swim, so they can stay safe around water and learn the skills needed to make swimming a lifelong pursuit for healthy living.
With a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, improving health and well-being, and supporting our neighbors, your membership will not just bring about meaningful change in yourself, but also in your community.
