Y t-ball is a home run! Kids learn the basics of the game plus teamwork, leadership, and make new friends.
Y t-ball programs are designed to help players learn basic skills such as batting, catching, throwing, and the rules of the game. All kids are encouraged to play by getting equal chances to bat, run bases, and play in the field. Y youth sports encourage and promote healthy kids, families, and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition rather than rivalry, the value of participation over winning, team-building as well as individual development, a positive self-image and a sense of fair play and mutual respect for others.
Families are encouraged to be more than mere spectators, by contributing their time as volunteer coaches — as well as being their kid’s greatest fan.
Preschoolers learn rules and practice t-ball fundamentals like throwing and catching the ball, batting off the tee, and in most cases, going the right way around the baseball diamond through fun drills and games.
Ages: 3 to 5, co-ed
Schedule: Practices with scrimmages are held once per week for 8 weeks. The days and times of the program vary by location.
Fall and winter locations: There are no programs planned for fall and winter 2024.
