Early Education & Preschool Teachers
YMCA Early Education programs are enriching and positive places for kids to learn, grow, and thrive. Our teachers and supervisors provide gentle, nurturing care so children feel safe to explore, discover, and learn as they become school-ready.
Summer Day Camp Counselors
Summer Day Camp counselors serve as role models who lead by example to guide campers through activities ranging from arts & crafts, STEM programming, and sing-alongs to archery, nature hikes, outdoor recreation, and more.
Camp Counselors & Outdoor Instructors
Work outdoors in some of the most beautiful parts of our state! Counselors and instructors lead participants through experiences that focus on environmental science and outdoor skills, impart social-emotional learning, and build self-confidence and independence.
Youth, Sports, & Teen Programs
Many YMCA positions offer opportunities to work with kids while serving your local community. From youth sports instructors and Kids Zone to bus drivers and teen leadership staff, we have jobs for every level of interest, ability, and background.
Lifeguards & Swim Instructors
Keeping kids safe around water is one of the most important jobs at the Y. Lifeguards and swim instructors save lives by teaching kids how to swim while building confidence and instilling life skills that will last a lifetime.
Social Work & Crisis Intervention
The Y Social Impact Center team offers behavioral health, foster care, homelessness, and housing services to youth and young adults. They play a crucial role in interrupting trauma and creating pathways for everyone to reach their full potential

Early Education and Preschool Teachers
YMCA Early Education programs are enriching and positive places for kids to learn, grow, and thrive. As a teacher or supervisor, you’ll provide gentle, nurturing care for infants to pre-kindergarten so they feel safe to explore, discover, and learn as they become school-ready.

YMCA Early Education centers are located across King and south Snohomish counties in Auburn, Redmond, West Seattle, and Woodinville, plus two Seattle Preschool Programs (preschoolers and pre-kindergarteners ages 3 to 5).

Licensed School-Age Child Care Staff
Licensed YMCA Child Care offers high-quality, active learning opportunities designed to expand young minds through before and after-school enrichment programs. Elementary-aged students engage in sports, arts, STEM, and other hands-on learning activities in a safe and caring environment.
More than 30 Locations Across Greater Seattle
We partner with school districts to provide programs at local elementary schools that focus on building life skills, exploring creative expression, being active, and most importantly, having fun.
Hours & Benefits
- Minimum starting pay of $20 per hour
- School-Year Hours: Before and after-school programming including full-time with split shifts or part-time, working before or after school, Monday-Friday
- Summer Hours: Summer camp programming focused on full-time, eight-hour shifts (preferred) with split shifts and part-time also available

Minors Working at the Y
For minors (16-17 years old) to work at the Y, a Parent/School Authorization (PSA) Form must be completed before a minor can begin working. When school is in session, school is expected to be their priority.
What minors can and cannot do:
- Minors cannot work during school hours (defined as the hours their neighborhood public school is in session) and total hours per week is limited.
- If there is a situation where blood is present, a minor would not be able to administer first aid and would need an adult to step in.
- Minors cannot be the sole staff responsible for opening or closing a YGS work site or location, and cannot be designated the leader on duty.
- Minors under 17 years of age cannot drive a motor vehicle on public roads as part of their job. YGS minimum authorized driver age is 21.
- A person under 18 cannot have sole responsibility for a child or group of children.
- If a minor is teaching others to swim, they must be certified as a swim instructor through the American Red Cross, or a similar certifying organization (YGS uses YSLI).
- While a minor can assist with cleaning the pool, they are prohibited from entering or working in any chemical storage areas, including where filtration and chlorinating systems are located.
